I have no problem calling myself a capitalist. It’s not capitalism per se but a virulent strain of capitalism that has corrupted our govt & highjacked America’s value system. Capitalism, like any public institution, should display ethics & moral consideration for people & planet.

Marianne this is oh no moment for me. Societies of the past moved forward from slavery to feudalism to capitalism as means of production got more efficient. You can call yourself whatever you want but you can’t keep us all from making progress. I’m really bummed about this😔

Capitalism has no values. It's abt pure exploitation, sucking the value out of everything it can and leaving behind the wreckage of its plunder. It's working very well. It's not only naive for you to say these things, it's infuriating.

No, it's the capitalism, dear. You are a very sweet person, Marianne, but I encourage you to take a listen to @profwolff on YouTube to learn why late-stage capitalism is actually growing more toxic every year. I know you are in favor of expanding your consciousness.

Ethics and moral consideration should always come first. Capitalism and making money should be secondary. Greed and selfishness are the source of all our problems and this needs to change if we are ever to solve them.

it's government, with its monopoly on using legal violence against non-violent people, that corrupts capitalism.

The nature of capitalism includes those with wealth and power using their power to get around any regulations they can to acquire more wealth. Keynes said that regulations me at be constantly evolving because of this. I prefer a system that meets everyone's basic needs.

Ugh I gave you a dollar when you needed donors to get on the debate stage. This is upsetting, M. An economic structure that financializes human lives is fundamentally corrupt and must be excised root and stem.

A system that allows interest to be charged will always result in exploitation of the natural environment and labor. It is hard coded in capitalism.
