I have no problem calling myself a capitalist. It’s not capitalism per se but a virulent strain of capitalism that has corrupted our govt & highjacked America’s value system. Capitalism, like any public institution, should display ethics & moral consideration for people & planet.

I just do not get how a spiritual leader can say capitalism is good. Capitalism is about buying shit thru an attachment to materialism. Humans are bombarded with ads to buy mindless shit that is killing the planet. Per LA Times: e-commerce shipped 165 billion packages last year.

It’s not a virulent strain, it’s a perversion - applied by a number of bad actors that have seized control of the oligarchy. Markets are a tool - it’s the users (or abusers in this case) that are at fault.

Capitalism has pulled two billion people out of poverty in the last 20 years, yet it's excesses have worked to destroy the planet and dramatically increase inequality. The world is not one-dimensional, and our analysis should not be either. Balance is key.

Our Capitalism should reflect our founding.

The more I learn and grow in politics, the more I distance myself from capitalism. I’m ready to try something else.

Officers of publicly traded companies must be given discretion to take corporate actions that do not necessarily place the interests of stock holders above the interests of their employees and their communities.
Love you Marianne but "Capitalism" can't display ethics or morals, only people can and the people are corrupt. It's a virulent strain of a generational disease of elites in secular and political power. #YangGang2020 #UBI

Exactly, I always opined the best government to serve the people is a blend of Capitalism and Socialism. A professor once said: Democracy is about equality, one person, one vote. Capitalism is about inequality as people who have more money have more power.
