I have no problem calling myself a capitalist. It’s not capitalism per se but a virulent strain of capitalism that has corrupted our govt & highjacked America’s value system. Capitalism, like any public institution, should display ethics & moral consideration for people & planet.

But capitalism isn't a "public institution" -- it's a theoretical construct premised on maximizing profits. This construct is brutal and efficient, but completely lacking in "ethics".

I don't know, this seems like an empty platitude since Capitalism is a concept/model or grand narrative of the world, not an institution in of itself. How do you define what is capitalism and what is not? This seems more like an ideology.

A human centered capitalism will allow a temporary fix as did the New Deal. We must change systemically or face the recessions cyclically.

The abuse of Earth for profit cannot last long term. For 7.7 billion people to live as we do with our throw away society, we'd need 7 Earths. The way civilization is designed cannot expand & keep Earth happy. We need efficient sharing systems & manage Earth w/ science, not money.
