The military has more than 130 bands with more than 6000 musicians, costing about a half-billion dollars a year. Meanwhile the National Endowment for the Arts gets $155M, a paltry amount compared to other advanced democracies. Arts & artists should be robustly funded & supported!

I support military bands, as a musician & instructor myself I know the military is a great option for people who don't have enough money to join a university. But yes, money shouldn't be a barrier to pursuing a creative passion. Artists should know they aren't going to starve.

You already are relying on military cuts for your other policy promises. Quit lying about how much we can offer without massive taxes or massive debt. Yes, I agree that spending should be cut, but why not have it go towards the debt or social security?

Although to be fair, the Army bands have a second mission: they provide guard duty support at POW camps. But, I take your point and agree; arts and humanities funding needs more support.
