The military has more than 130 bands with more than 6000 musicians, costing about a half-billion dollars a year. Meanwhile the National Endowment for the Arts gets $155M, a paltry amount compared to other advanced democracies. Arts & artists should be robustly funded & supported!

I agree with increasing funding for the Nat Endowment for the Arts, but don’t want it to happen at the expense of our military bands. Shouldn’t be a contest. Much rather spend public $ on bands than bombs.

Sadly, the only "art" that is widespread is.... "commercial marketing" for profits.

You know these allotments come from different sources, right? The military bands are covered in military budget. you may want to talk about reducing the military budget but that would get a bit sticky.....

Maybe we could have one exceptional combined Armed Forces band and distribute the savings to homelessness. I love the Arts but I'm more compassionate to the less fortunate.

They had their chance under Obama, he failed them. Trump is always being lied about and threatened by people in the arts, so why should he help?

Using your numbers, 130 bands, 6000 musicians and a half-billion dollars it sure sounds like the arts are being funded. Not only that; in responds to some of the comments below. The military is a great place for low-income individuals to benefit.

This is insane! Pour that money back into the communities to create wonderful opportunities for the Music and Art programs! Could you imagine what that would do for the energy of the universe! Now that is insanely magnificent! #BigTruth.
