Most people who create wealth don’t want to feel that they do so at the expense of other people having a chance. Most consumers don’t want to feel we got a good buy on something at the expense of other people having a decent life. Our economy & gov’t should reflect human decency.

Capitalism has lifted billions of people out of poverty. Breakthroughs from free market societies have improved and lengthened life for all humans. If that’s not decency , I don’t know what is.

It does reflect human decency. Have you heard about Syria and the sanctions against Turkey?

They may not want to. But they do. We do. I rejoice at cheap clothing as much as the next person. But who pays for the cheapness? The environment? Likely. Underpaid workers in other countries and ours? You can pretty much count on it.

What I know for sure (after selling a small parcel of land) is that "money" is no longer money anyway. It is a series of digits in cyberspace. I literally went "boing" paid off my credit card, "boing" paid off a few bills, "boing" paid off my overdraft, using online banking.

The problem is that we lack an objective measure of value in the marketplace and hustlers like Donald Trump can create the illusion of value and sell it to you at a discount and still clear 100% profit.
