A person disconnected from empathy is a sociopath, but making that all about the president is to displace our outrage & responsibility from where it belongs. Our public policies have lacked empathy for decades. He did not create the spiritual void; the spiritual void created him.

Human society as a whole is a sociopath crushing individuals right and left, like a human walking on ants. The System has no empathy, no soul, it is based on competition for survival rather than a prize or bonus.

No @marwilliamson the problem is that everyone in government knows what he is and yet they stand by and allow him to destroy everything that America stands for.
I think empathy is a god given trait and after learning to have empathy from parents and community, people make a choice to be empathetic or not. Trump growing up probably lived in a non empathetic and nurturing environment.

Exactly. The easy thing to do is blame trump. There’s plenty of subject matter. But no one owns up to the fact that the same politicians in congress have led us down this path for decades. Term limits needed.

It is a physical handicap. Result of malfunctioning amigdala. 4% of humans have this handicap. What do we do about that? I say we test politicians and bankers for this, and if discoverd to have it, find them some other job where caring about people's feelings is not a factor.
