Jesse, I think that if people who really want M4A, as you and I, and I believe MW, we should go the public option route. We will get it done fast. Show the country how good it will be. Then we can swoop in with it. Remember Obamacare? Imagine now. I've been thinking and...

... I think this is the best route. Not ideal, but people will be covered. Better than an endless fight. These people in congress are heartless. They have put party before country. They will not let this go down.

They all start with a public option? I hadn't understood that... In that case...

I totally understand your passion about this & intellectually I agree with it. But a human reality here that I can’t get past is how many people tell me that they don’t want to give up what they have. When I say they would have 4 yrs to do it, I never get an enthusiastic response

Yes, that’s tough - I wish those who were so focused on what THEY want could think about the rest of us who need this. I am a functioning productive member of society yet struggle to get coverage. And I’m a fortunate one! Don’t they realize how the uninsured impact their rates?

Most people I talk to just want a economical access to good doctors, nurses, etc. The insurance carrier is the least that matters. The few people I know (who are privileged) want to keep their private insurance because they have a lot of fear about M4A.

I agree. The foundation of this country is about freedom of choice. We just have to put these insurance companies in their place and make sure we make our free health care the best it can be. But we need a moral leader to make sure of that.

I believe it is a matter of education. Just like educating people about slavery is a cornerstone of MW’s bold reparations plan, that too could be her goal in presenting a bold M4A. Both plans are ultimately better for the health of the American people.
