Well the evidence on the efficacy of prayer is not in but prayer made with pure intention for good may be valuable for the praying person as well. Focusing attention as meditation does & opening the person to positive thought. Millions pray including non believers.

I'm not criticizing you or your belief in prayer. I'm criticizing you calling the Left "overly secularized" because we just want to separate faith and science and know when to use each. As a #Democrat, it's great to start conversation, not great to feed into the #GOP's narrative.

The amount of ignorance that exists in this country is probably going to be too much for her to overcome because people will hear something false about someone like her and run with it rather than learning the truth for themselves.

When people can't rely on their goverments for hurricane preparedness (because of malfeasance or incompetence), and they don't have the income to protect themselves, prayer is probably all they have left to comfort them.

Actually Ms. Williamson, prayer does have an effect on the external environment and internal (body) one. In medicine, if a patient prays and believes in God, he/she tends to survive longer than those patients who do not pray and consider prayer useless or a waste of time. The 1/
