I was born and raised in Texas so I’ve seen it. Millions of people today are praying that Dorian turn away from land, and treating those people with mockery or condescension because they believe it could help is part of how the overly secularized Left has lost lots of voters.

When I was growing up there was a vital religious Left. It is BECAUSE of my spiritual views that I’m a Democrat. The idea that religious or spiritual people should find no home in the Democratic Party is hardly the view of someone wanting to win in 2020.

There are plenty of religious Democrats. Ever been to a Baptist church? The Left believes in religious freedom. It the intolerant right that is only interested in whether you are a strict Christian
The secular left will not allow spirituality. Good luck Marianne
Confusing woo-woo clichés with spirituality is a bad way to win votes, but a great way to farm rubes. May fortune shine on your self-help tours to come.
You are mixing the 2!!! The US was built on a simple concept of separation of church and state!! Faith has absolutely no bearing or should be included in government!! I would expect someone of your stature to understand and respect that!
Did you miss the Democrats booing God during the 2016 convention?
The overly secular left is rabid and will never respect faith.
They *should* find a blue home, while leaving their religion at the door instead of being all Republican about dragging church nonsense into state matters. I seem to recall some brave people fighting a revolution over this a couple of centuries ago.

No problem with people having their spiritual beliefs, but don’t pretend it’s rational to believe prayers accomplishes anything but a psychological sense of hope.
