I was born and raised in Texas so I’ve seen it. Millions of people today are praying that Dorian turn away from land, and treating those people with mockery or condescension because they believe it could help is part of how the overly secularized Left has lost lots of voters.

Now do cancer patients and murder victims. Do they not pray hard enough? How about the Bahamas—a shortage of prayer there, too?

The right now uses prayer as an excuse not to take any kind of action. You can’t claim the moral high ground with this idiocy. Climate change is man made and humans have a responsibility to end it.

Power of PRAYER is powerful like a detonator is to C4, BUT prayer all by itself at times is NOT enough. Prayers needs action [Deeds] like C4 (Deeds) needing a detonator (Prayer) #Dorian2019 Prayer + Many putting in great efforts & resources towards safety preparations(Deeds)....

No, Marianne, it’s because we see the danger in the implication that people in the Bahamas just didn’t pray hard enough, or worse, that God values our prayers more.

I don't agree with much else you say, but THIS is true. Democrats are hopelessly tone deaf when they mock people of faith. Yes, people of faith sometimes do stupid things. But how smart is it to mock them and THEN ask them for their votes? That's pretty stupid, too!

There’s nothing wrong w/ using prayer as a tool. There’s a fundamental problem w/ using it as the only tool & ignoring science/law enforcement/putting 1st responders at risk because you pray instead of evacuating. When you advocate prayer, you also have to mention this.

I'm tired of catering to people's ancient superstitions.

I was born into a Texas family and raised there since I was 5 years old. My family is deeply religious but I am agnostic. What I don’t understand is that millions of agnostics and atheists like me have almost no representation, no voice in our politics.
