I was born and raised in Texas so I’ve seen it. Millions of people today are praying that Dorian turn away from land, and treating those people with mockery or condescension because they believe it could help is part of how the overly secularized Left has lost lots of voters.

No one is “mocking” their faith. We’re saying it’s irresponsible for you to put out there that “prayer” will keep them out of harms way when you know damn right well it WON’T.

You want to pray or visualize because it makes you feel better or it makes others feel better when everyone’s feeling powerless? Go right ahead. But you should not be telling people they can visualize away a nuclear bomb or a hurricane

The problem isn’t praying. The problem is phrasing it as people are victims because they haven’t prayed hard enough. Prayer isn’t a spell. The world doesn’t move when you say the right words. And when you phrase your prayers like you did, you make it seem as though the victims /1

Ms Williamson, you seem like a nice, well meaning person. I've watched you in 2 debates. I've read one of your books. Generally speaking, I like you. But you have no business running as a Democrat. Criticizing people for being secular IN A SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC is madness.

The fact that Christians can feel their prayers successfully turned Dorian from Florida, while it’s devastated the Bahamas, is what’s alienating millions of people from the church 🙄 #bigots #BlueEyedJesusDidNotExist

Marianne, maybe we just want a leader who makes rational decisions based on facts instead of one who just fancy-wishes for things.

Thoughts & prayers haven't stopped earthquakes, flooding, hurricanes, tornadoes, violence or war or poverty or racism etc. Prayer is speaking to God. Meditation allows us to listen for an answer. Maybe they should start listening to those answers they refuse to hear.
