I was born and raised in Texas so I’ve seen it. Millions of people today are praying that Dorian turn away from land, and treating those people with mockery or condescension because they believe it could help is part of how the overly secularized Left has lost lots of voters.

Pray is something that too many humans abuse as a way to get attention. Prayer is about changing the mind that is within an individual. To say your prayers are anything else is nothing more than ego. Pray silently and see what happens.

The fact we have such a godless society now is the root to many of our problems!

I joined the multitude praying to the Great Turtle, asking Her to adjust the world on Her back so the hurricane harmed Bahamians rather than Florida Man, who has enough problems as it is.

There is no such thing as “over-secularized.” We are a secular nation... period.

Marianne, a lot of your "scientific" rhetoric aligns with Scientology. No thank you.

And, this tweet is why we mock religion. You're asking your all knowing god to divert a hurricane that he created. He set its path. He knew he would create this hurricane since the dawn of time, but, if you pray it away god will say "Okay. I guess I made a mistake. Sorry!"

People are welcome to enlist the help of whichever god they believe in if it brings them comfort. It has however, proven very ineffective as a substitute for tangible action 100% of the time.

The left isn’t secularized enough, imho. Prayer cant alter reality. You’ll never get my vote.

There is a difference between praying to God to beg him to do something and “visualizing” a state of affairs and believing that your thought would change reality. The latter is a form of psychosis and you advocate for it.
