Prayer is a power of the mind, and it is neither bizarre nor unintelligent. People of faith belong in the Democratic Party, and will be necessary to the effort if we’re to win in 2020.

Prayer is powerful but what the Democratic Party stands for doesn't align with the bible. I don't think true Christians will go for that.

Funny how everyone always sends “thoughts & prayers” and then those same people mock “thoughts & prayers”.

Our thoughts are prayers. Whether we believe it or not, we’re ALL praying! @marwilliamson did NOT say pray & do nothing else (like we do with mass shootings). Ridiculous where we’re investing our energy-defending prayer-Really? Ludicrous! Of course we pray & then, we get busy!

Prayer is wonderful. People believing they have the power to change the course of a hurricane with their prayers is delusional insane and irresponsible! And it actually lowers the number of people doing actual good because those people will believe that their prayers are enough.

We saw what you did already. The internet doesn’t forget. Someone who needs to try and erase what they said and think has no business in office. #atheist #secularleft

I agree but the problem is when politicians use prayer as a solution instead of policy changes. People are sick of that. People are dying because of that, and it's created a Pavlovian negative response to the word prayer. We must balance a spiritual message with policy strategy.

Marianne.... you are wayyyy too kind and smart to be aligned there. The current state of the media/the meanness around politics.... you don’t deserve it!

It is bizarre and unintelligent when you compare it against facts and science. Sadly this is an either/or issue.
