Prayer is a power of the mind, and it is neither bizarre nor unintelligent. People of faith belong in the Democratic Party, and will be necessary to the effort if we’re to win in 2020.

People of faith should not be pushing that faith in politics. Period. End of sentence. Do it your church. If religion wants to be in politics, then tax it. Religion has been the biggest method of harm used by people against each other. That is proven fact.

Your original tweet and this set is basically just "prosperity gospel" philosophy. It implies that those who experience significant hardships do so purely as a result of not being "enough" (be it faith, prayerful, etc) & lacking favor with a higher power. Instead of encouraging/1

I believe in prayer and I practice it, but if I pray and it does indeed change the path of a hurricane and it kills people and ruins lives in the Bahamas instead of doing the same to the people in Florida, what does that say about my God? "Hurt them instead of me" is not prayer.

Isn’t prayer your personal business? Why should we care about your faith. We need to know you’re an educated, critical thinker who listens and is informed by experts. Who believes in evolution, science, facts, reality, constructive solutions not woowoo

Faith does not mean impugning a 95% Christian country (Bahamas) for not praying enough. Nor for suggesting prayer as an alternative to proper precautions and work to protect our families & communities

Right on Bunnie! Prayer aligns our thoughts, our visualizations, our hearts & our intentions and opens up a receptive and creative dynamic of our psyche. From this embodied attunement (at-one-ment), one can utilize the power of prayer to awaken a deep clarity.

Each to own. Just don't fail to actually take action, when action is needed. I have a cousin in a wheelchair and a dead aunt who both naively and incorrectly thought that prayer would cure their cancer. As much as I love them, that belief was both bizarre and foolish.
