Prayers for the people of the Bahamas, Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas. May the peace of God be upon them and their hearts be comforted as they endure the storm.

I’m seriously wondering about the sanity of some of the commenters in this thread. I wonder how they would feel if their parents, spouse or children were in a path of serious danger. Would they not internally wish for their safety and peace?

@marwilliamson I will join you in praying. I will join you in visualizing/meditating on the safest, best possible outcome for all those in the path of Dorian.

We are living on a tiny planet in an infinite galaxy. Call it woo-woo if you want. I call it God. Spirituality is merely the path of the heart. If you are inclined toward the heart, maybe you need comfort in times of chaos and trauma.

Amen Marianne! Sad that you felt the need to delete your tweet about prayer and visualization...there is nothing whacky about that. Its commonplace for many spiritual Americans. Politics is indeed ugly- and out of touch. Sending you love, thank you for your courage!

Don't listen to the trolls on here. The fearful reaction is a testament to how powerful the force of love is. Big picture. Eye on the ball. All that other stuff is noise. Low vibrational noise. We're here to heal and shed light. And we will focus on that light. Sat nam.

A message to the haters: visualizing, sending love and intention for change is powerful. It's easy to mock what you don't understand, but try opening your heart and mind it's far better than insulting others agreenbeauty.com/environment…

I appreciate Marianne's tweet. I am not a religious person but I understand that when someone invokes the power of prayer or god, that means that they deeply care about what is happening and are empathizing with other people's suffering.

Lord, our eyes will not be turned away from the ones who really matter this hurricane. We see them, and we see the needs. Let them feel your love hovering over all, let them feel the brotherhood that holds them up in prayer, and let us be your hands and feet in our world. Amen.
