The simple reality is that a debate with more than ten participants is a boring waste of time, and the DNC correctly realized that the two night approach reduced the audience numbers.

The founders (note the lack of capitalization)were mostly slave owners that thought women were too irrational to vote. And if you think there's anything in the constitution about participation in televised debates, you have business running for President.
