Then they should be tried as adults for crimes as well. They should be able to own guns.

If I ran the circus, I’d call everyone “adults” at 17. Raise the driving age and lower voting, drinking, becoming a soldier, etc. Heck, have an official adulthood ceremony; Vonnegut seemed to believe that was one of the primary things missing in modern American culture...

It should be kept at 18, cause adolescents tend to not have a fully developed perspective on politics, besides core issues. And that's perfect prey for extremist groups and ideologies.

Yes, because we need more voters who live with their parents and don’t pay taxes to decide US policy.

If they can drive and pay taxes, heck yes!, They can vote. But none of these measures will make a difference if California with 40 million pop still has two Senators and the 2 Dakota’s with one million ( combined) pop has 4 Senators. That must change like now.

If they can vote at that age they should be able to buy a gun at that age, now let's see if you still feel they are responsible enough.

Children all over the USA can be automatically charged as adults in the criminal justice system. If a child is deemed mature enough to appreciate the consequences of her actions and, thus, charged & prosecuted as an adult, certainly she should be deemed mature enough to vote!

The current president acts like a 5 year old... Why not lower the voting age to 5yrs old.

Oh please! These are the same people that don't know not to eat laundry detergent or snort condoms.

While we’re at it, can we lower the age requirement for buying a gun?
