The Amazon burning is a reminder of humanity’s pathological irreverence toward the earth, a self-destructive dysfunction from which we will heal or possibly not even survive as a species. This is more than a climate crisis; it is a survival crisis, and it should be seen as such.

People talk about humanity destroying the earth...I think she’s been extremely tolerant so far. I believe she’ll shake us all off and go about mending herself; she is a living organism with a robust immune system that in the end will not allow any pathogen to ravish her. Change.

You speak to what we need to realize: that the earth will be fine - she just might need to shake us off for 2 or 3 hundred thousand years while she repairs herself. The issue then is to consider the immeasurable amount of human suffering that would accompany that scenario.#actnow

Agreed the earth is way more powerful than humans and also animals and even bees kill the bees pollute the earth change the diversity of plants with GM everything and ultimately kill ourselves the natural laws will always win..

The earth is not fine! When thousands of species are going extinct every week, she IS ALIVE! We dont know how bad she is.. extracting her life blood, oil may cause issues we didnt forsee.
