So let’s state it again. I’m pro medicine. I’m pro science. I’ve never told anyone not to take medicine. I’ve never fat-shamed anyone. And today there’s a new one: no I don’t support Scientology. The machinery of mischaracterization is in high gear now. Gee, did I upset someone?

@marwilliamson Honestly your campaign fits perfectly with the Medicare For All proposal. You are running on campaign to heal the soul of America. Healing should be body and soul. Universal healthcare with no fees, Co-pays, deductibles, premiums etc will help so many people

It’s that one issue about telling people they can’t have private insurance. I have a problem with that one piece of it. I know all the arguments and I agree with them, actually. But I hesitate on that one thing. It’s a process. We have a while before I’m president:)

Private insurance means for profit, for profit meansa focus on profit not health.

Who says people can't have private insurance? It's going to be there regardless. Its the rest of your "medical" views that are the issue.
I think there’d still be private insurance to supplement for all the “extras”, e.g. plastic surgery.

They can have private supplemental insurance so things like acupuncture, chiropractors, holistic medicine wouldn’t be covered under Medicare 4 All so that would be three private insurance market, the point is healthcare should not be driven mostly by a profit incentive

But let me ask you this is you could be in a government plan for less money no co-pay, no deductible and more expansive coverage why would you want to have a private plan??

I am speaking from my clinician hat. What good is private insurance if it dictates the standard of care you should receive. If best practice for diagnosis of pulmonary embolism is CT angiography and your plan doesn't cover it , and you can't pay, you could die.

That is not best practice, not good medicine, I believe it to be a violation of oath. Healthcare is a human right. Not allowing everyone to benefit from best practice is unacceptable. Universal coverage/ healthcare is will be embraced.

Fix it with love, Marianne.
1. Then you don’t understand the issue. My husband is disabled and has both Medicare and my employer provided private insurance. The quality of care he gets from my insurance is better than Medicare’s, but it still keeps us in poverty.

Had 4 vertebrae destroyed in a car accident. Was prescribed 16 medications (oxycontin, vicodin, Celexa, Sumatriptan, Relifan, Neurontin just to name a few) & told to take 50 pills a day. I became clinically depressed but MDs couldn't understand why. I did-50 pills a day
