Learn the history behind that myth. Furthermore, what was offered was specific land from slavers. No slavers alive today. Furthermore, bankruptcy and poverty wipes debt. Plenty of Americans inherited nothing from those days. Fix problems today. pbs.org/wnet/african-america…

40 acres of uncultivated land seized from southerners and a war surplus mule didn't exactly cost the US government much of anything in 1865. Blame Democrat Andrew Johnson for reversing that policy when it made a lick of sense. Five generations later, it's just pandering.
