C’mon, Andy. You know in your heart that if the Jews in 1930s Germany had just envisioned a politics of love, the Nazis would’ve been defeated before they ever got started!

As a Jew, I can tell you how offensive that is. A politics of love would have meant that many countries, including the United States, would have taken the Nazi threat far more seriously much sooner than it did.

Love of one’s fellow man saved many people by allowing them refuge in other countries, but a “politics of love” would have done nothing to defeat the Nazi war machine or turn back the atrocities they committed.
