The US is having an identity crisis, our generation forced to decide: will we or will we not choose to stand on the principles bequeathed to us: the equality of all; God-given inalienable rights to life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness; & govt. existing to secure those rights.

Important we consider that question because it’s not the way we function now. Much govt policy does NOT respect the equality of all & does NOT support everyone’s pursuit of happiness. According to Dec of Ind, if govt fails to do its job it’s the right of the people to alter it.

As a spiritual practice, I memorized it this year. It was incredibly rewarding, inspiring, and enlightening to engage in the reflection necessary to memorize each word, and the ideas and convictions they were expressing. For those reasons, I encourage others to memorize it, too.

Black americans have done much to make America the free land it is today. It could be argued we have biggest contributors to nation, yet we remain the ONLY group not allowed to take part in the American experience.

The Declaration & Constitution are based on Universal Standards of Conduct found in Magna Carta, Bible, even Code of Hamurabbi ! Leftists/Marxists/Socialists/ & present "face" of the @dnc would throw off those Standards for an oppressively fluid moral relativity
