The US is having an identity crisis, our generation forced to decide: will we or will we not choose to stand on the principles bequeathed to us: the equality of all; God-given inalienable rights to life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness; & govt. existing to secure those rights.

Important we consider that question because it’s not the way we function now. Much govt policy does NOT respect the equality of all & does NOT support everyone’s pursuit of happiness. According to Dec of Ind, if govt fails to do its job it’s the right of the people to alter it.

problem is, govt doesn't exist to secure those rights. it currently exists to amass power and control, to use threats and violence to impose its will down upon all others, regardless of consent. govt is part of the problem.

Marianne, it is important to give context to the founding docs since the founding "fathers" were only protecting rights for white male property owners and not women, non-whites, and the poor. This country was built on very shaky foundation.

We’ve already decided in 16 by choosing Hillary. We kept tonthat decision in 18 by voting Democratic on an even larger scale. And 2020 will be bigger. Hopefully with electing President Harris.
