There was not enough protest to end chattel slavery in the United States. The economic value of free human labor was too high to lend power to the masses. Lincoln had to unify Free Soilers with the abolitionists using the Emancipation Proclamation -- during wartime.

You do realize that what ended slavery was when “people stepped in” and fought a four-year civil war in which at least 650,000 people died, right?

Politics, being the creation of people, is always about the people stepping in. Your statements are fluff.

Remember learning about this guy? He was assassinated for HIS work in freeing the slaves. Oh yeah, he was #POTUS!
