When I was a child, we saw pictures of military parades in the Soviet Union. We were told we don’t do that, that we’re proud of the fact that we don’t do that because we don’t wish to be a militarized society. Celebrating July 4 with army tanks on the National Mall is repugnant.

Yeah we gotta fix that. But cynicism is just an excuse for not helping. We can’t just name it; we have to change it.

The American people have been gaslighted from this point. After Eisenhower, Kennedy, who preached about the MIC; secret organizations, etc., Murdered in front of the world. Yea, make a point. America has never been about freedom. It's all about secrecy, and $$$$$.

When I was a child we cheered for Veterans wearing their uniforms in several parades held throughout the year. And then we went to military museums and climbed all over tanks, planes, and trucks.

You would be the first person to say help our vets and poor first before illegals. Well his stupid parade costs a lot of money that could help homeless. But hey “it’ll be fun”

The militarized society of the Soviet Union was, I think, significantly due to them being under constant threat from the capitalist west. And the US has been an incredibly militarized/nationalistic society for a long, long time. In movies, media, etc. davidswanson.org/warlist/

They are protecting this country unlike Trump who is going to get this country bombed. He is the most self serving, egotistical, lying president we have ever had.

I agree. Or better yet, boycott #July4th celebrations to protest the horrific crimes against humanity happening on our southern border. #detentioncamps #ConcentrationCampsForKids
