When I was a child, we saw pictures of military parades in the Soviet Union. We were told we don’t do that, that we’re proud of the fact that we don’t do that because we don’t wish to be a militarized society. Celebrating July 4 with army tanks on the National Mall is repugnant.

Our independence was secured by military action against a tyranny. What do you think the fireworks represent?

You have a military parade at ever sporting event. America spends more on never ending wars than China, Saudis, India, France, Russia, UK and Germany combined. The idea that you are not a militarized country is ostrich speak.

Due to increasing heat and humidity, and D.C. having all of that asphalt and concrete holding it intact, local weather forecasters are predicting "a complete washout" of Trump's grandiose plans on July 4th with a 60% chance of storms. D.C. gets more storms than the Maryland burbs

In fact, not only are storms predicted for D.C. on July 4th, but the time is around 6 p.m. when Trump is due to be giving his speech. Skies are predicted to clear after 9 p.m. in time for setting off fireworks.
