I'll be visiting Homestead tomorrow morning, thinking about my grandparents who came here escaping oppression over 100 years ago. America's openness to the plight of the immigrant is core to our value system, without which as a nation we're on a perilous course to chaos.

62yrs ago my grandparents left UK. They were refugees at the end of the war, identified as stateless, they were granted citizenship and raised their children here. They worked on a farm and in mills. My grandmother taught us lessons of fleeing and bearing witness to real horrors.

Hoping they don't lock you into the "anti-vaxer" or "woo-woo"closet tonight n they give you more than five minutes.Last nite shows you have to be sharp n quick but confident n appealing. Tulsi, Castro, Warren did well. All were better than Trump. Go Marianne! #DemocraticDebates

My grandfather did as well. Came through Ellis Island and became an American citizen.

And your ancestors came here legally. Big difference. You are ignoring all the immigrants who are trying to abide by our laws and come here legally, by allowing those who break our law to stay.
