If anyone needs proof of the cravenness of our political system, go no further than the absence of Congressional committee members at today’s hearing for 9/11 heroes or their failure to extend funding for their health care. So much for “We’ll never forget you.” They musta forgot

Why do you think politicians did not attend this event? They want votes so it is a winner. It is a good cause. It should be done. Even if you are morally bankrupt you would go for self-interest. I am perplexed as to why they would not go.

They didn’t go because they were voting against extending the money, and they didn’t want the embarrassment of having to face all the first responders who were there.

It's still very early in the primary season. She's qualified for the DNC debates and I know she's going to rock them.

It's such a crime in this Country that we don't take care of our own people. They risked their lives to help others and yet GOP won't help them. Come on it was a terrorist attack on us. So lets waste tax dollars on investigating Hillary and her e-mails yet forget 9/11 survivors

Perhaps the entire sub-committee attended? Still not enough presence, of course.

An outrage. This is an absolute disgrace. To turn their cheek to the men and women who are battling PTSD, cancer and all the extensions of the traumas that reach out into their lives. These are the hero’s of our country not those suits in silent bought seats.
