What I dislike most about Congressional Repubs going along with Trump even when they know better, doing so out of fear that otherwise they might lose their seat, is that it implies they’re the only ones who ever had to face ethical choices. What happened to honor? Or to spine?

I wish we would stop this nonsense. It is a part of their plan to get what they want. Look at history - they'd rather destroy everything than lose power. Their "constituents" are more unified and vocal than most decent folks are. More people need to watch the BlackkKlansman...

What you are pointing out is why Trump got elected. Politicians in both parties run on one thing and then do another. Trump supporters look past his personal eccentricities. He is doing what he said he would do. Lower taxes, border security, jobs, foreign policy.

It is not honorable to call the President and his followers racists, homophobes, deplorable etc. It is not honorable to vilify the President because you disagree with his policies. It is not honorable for Biden to change policy because the political wind is blowing against him.
