This is outrageous. Once someone has paid their debt to society, they have paid their debt to society. The past offender once having completed their time should be welcomed back to society and encouraged to thrive among their fellow citizens.
Breaking: Florida senate passes bill requiring those with past felony convictions to pay all restitution, fines & fees before becoming eligible to vote. This is modern day poll tax undermining historic ballot initiative that could block over 500,000 people from the ballot box

The Florida Senate is completely undermining the voters who passed the amendment and ignoring our choice. I don't recall a single sentence in that amendment stating restitution had to be paid before voting.
