Most advanced nations have grounded their fleet of Boeing Max 8, yet the United States has not. Why? Because the FAA now serves Boeing’s interests before it serves ours. This is how our country works now in situation after situation. I support the Senate move to ground the fleet.

This sounds like a convenient political argument - but it's emotional and not fact-based. Historical precedent by the FAA and Boeing is being maintained here, and the knee-jerk (political) reaction by the CAAC and EASA is equally responsible for the groundings.

You would have to be crazy to get on one of those planes.

Thank you for saying that. Personally, I feel your honesty to say it like it is, is exactly what America needs.

At the end of the day it will be up to consumers not to board that particular plane. Although that's not an ideal system for correcting mistakes. The issue that needs to be addressed is Boeing's lack of care when building airplanes. Assembly lines are for cars.

Yes! I agree with you 100%, greed rears it’s ugly head once again! God please forgive us as a people!

Is it possible that, people pay ahead of the time to pass through the airport, but if something bad happens, the only people are at fault, the people being the airline?

Trump must have heard you, and grounded them! So glad you are out there Marianne!

As @FlyingWithSara said, the United States needs real leadership.

Just heard on Rachel Maddow last night that the Boeing software update that is in the works and anticipated to be completed by the end of this month, was discussed as earlier as January of this year. But the work was stalled for five weeks because of the government shutdown.

I wonder if the US fleets got program upgrades before other carriers. I read critical data upgrades were delayed in part by the shutdown (!) maybe they were distributed domestically first.
