It's hard to tackle global warming without addressing our massive throwaway society of consumerism & entertainment. If we are serious about a fix, then the age of entertainment is over. We waste a lot of energy on entertainment. Are we to entertain ourselves into self-extinction?

If our government can subsidize the fossil fuel industry and socialize the catastrophic effects of global warming, it can stop doing that and subsidize clean energy and global survival instead.
