America won’t repair itself until we take a deep look at our character defects. From racism to militarism to corporatism, the sinews of our civilization have been corrupted; it’s through our willingness to look at those things open-eyed that we’ll see the changes we need to make.

Open dialog of the issues is long over due. On top of those stated corruption at every level is out of control. We must look inward and determine who we are and where we stand.

I agree but also acknowledge the common humanity & decency that unites all of us.Good & loving people are conservatives & republican.Good people support Trump. Good people support Dems.Essential that we listen to one another as best we can, while also unifying against corruption.

You’re assuming that all Americans see that a repair is needed, imho. Fascist states of the 20th century happened because their citizens didn’t see that. That’s our challenge as Americans, we have to realize that the system is not aligned with democratic values.
