Reparations go beyond closing an economic divide; done well, they close a chapter of American history. They go further than ending an evil, which generations before us did. It is our job now to make restitution for the evil, in economic terms where the wound still festers.

What do you propose specifically? And are you talking just for descendants of slaves or also descendants of other oppressed communities as well?

There are certainly other oppressed communities such as Native Americans, whose issues are equally important. But they are separate situations presenting different challenges. Here I am talking about #ados marianne2020.com/issues/raci…

So what do you purpose for Native American descendants? Their ancestors were taken as slaves as well, and how do you compensate for their continent lost? Surely the healing you seek would be incomplete and fall short without addressing this as well, at the same time?

@tonetalks @BreakingBrown I respect that you are making a distinction in the #ADOS justice claim. Thank you.

"For that reason, I propose a $200 billion - $500 billion plan of reparations for slavery, the money to be disbursed over a period of twenty years." Just throwing out numbers to #ADOS based upon NO data & tied to NO economic performance metrics, like this "Cadillac Records". 🙄

Thank you @marwilliamson for approaching #Reparations2020 as a separate issue with a unique claim for those who continue to live with the legacy of American slavery #ADOS. I support @tonetalks & @BreakingBrown and their talk with you. Also donated to your 65K individuals goal.

Does this include descendants of Japanese prisoners of the WW2 internment camps?
