Politicians aren't the only "public servants" & 35 years is pretty "proven." "Transparent in my private life?"What does that mean?? And if you think 2 terms as Congressman is what gives someone qualifications & substance to be president, I'm not sure you know what Congressmen do.

Hi!
Public service is unique. It isn't about turning a profit or running a business. It is about serving the public. Being transparent? Releasing 10 years of tax returns as a start.
I know exactly what folks in Congress do.
I don't think the Presidency is entry level

With all due respect, we have a president with zero experience in elected office and it鈥檚 a disaster. Obviously your experience is very different. But why not run for something else before President? Like Congress, Senate or governor?

I believe my career experience is as relevant as any politician鈥檚. I, like millions of Americans, do not believe the current political conversation is the only, or even the best, container for the transformative energies now needed to repair the country (Btw I鈥檓 your fan, Neera)

.@marwilliamson Though of course both enter into governance style, governance isn't conversation, and it isn't a container for energies.
Can you be handed the controls of a large plane with the entire country in it at 40,000 feet, and fly it?

.@jeffposter1211 IMHO you're mixing up what makes a great candidate w/what makes a great president. A president is like an expert in ANY OTHER FIELD. No you can not hire an expert to do it for you or muddle through with good values. You need an understanding of legal history./1

And, you need an understanding of the MECHANICS of how things get done鈥攁nd, you need a panoply of tools to deal with those wanting to thwart you. Those tools come from watching people FAIL, which is as imp't as watching them succeed. You need gargantuan managerial skills. /2
