Why wouldn't you run for local/state government first? Why is everyone jumping straight to president these days?

Yes, I ran for Congress and lost. As did Barack Obama and several others. Running and losing isn't something to be ashamed of, as long as you showed up, tried, and lost with dignity. I feel I did.

What? Obama also won three times for state Senate, and once for US Senate before running for president. So, yes, he lost once...but he didn't turn around from one loss and run for president without serving at the state or local levels.

Fly my family out, and we'll happily go. Haha. I've got no beef against you. I just don't understand the logic of not working up through the lower levels of government. I told Schultz the same thing (and do have a beef with him).... /1
