Using GDP as a measurement of our success as a society is an outmoded way of thinking. How much does it help that unemployment is low, if depression, opioid addiction, and suicide rate are still high? We need a complete reframing of what our problems are and how to address them.

It actually takes a lot of skill to be President, before running a person should hold other political offices. I suggest becoming a city councilwoman, or mayor of a large city first - then work up to being a governor of some state - any state! You are not qualified.

If you feel that way, just think of where we’d be if unemployment were high.

Being out of a job adds to depression. Working adds to ones self value and independece. Being out of a job adds time to do drugs and be depressed.

What is the governments role in thwarting depression? Our country has a “god”(less) problem- also not the governments area of responsibility. Helping there be A strong economy is the best thing the govt can do for an Americans psyche.
