Statement from Covington important for two reasons: 1) as a religious institution, it's important they take a stand for human values, &2 ) it's important for the boys to know that such behavior would have consequences. No, boys, rudeness & bigotry is not what makes America great.

Where was parent and teacher supervision?! What happened to explaining what a march is for and how they are expected to behave! This is directly the schools fault as well and how they should teach empathy

By the time people are teenagers they should have been taught basic human values - by parents, school, and society. These things are a wake-up call to all of us to participate in an ethical regeneration of our culture. We need a spiritual and moral awakening in America.

This is what can happen when parents have no integrity and expect (naively) that the institution will substitute for the work of parenting. The church can only respond with discipline— it is not an inoculation against bad behavior. If you expect better, you’re just as naive.

Religious institutions, as well as parents, should teach moral values. That's the whole point of a spiritually informed life.

Have you seen this? youtube.com/embed/L-2z3en-oI… from about 1hr 10min in, seems much has been misinterpreted re what actually happened. Lots of ugly slurs but it wasn’t the kids who behaved the worst...

Interesting how when these things happen white people are still allowed their innocence and called "boys" by the media. If they were black the crowd would be called a "gang" or "thugs' by the media.

What exactly did they do? I actually did watch the full video -not sure how anyone in this day and age can post, about kids in particular, and not look at the full story.
