USA is the only country that bases its educational funding on property taxes, ensuring poorer children will get a poorer education thus perpetuating poverty. It’s a way a veiled aristocratic system keeps power to itself. It won’t change until we change it Marianneforamerica.com

We need an educational system where parents pay 💯 of their child's education. We need parental accountability. Some people may feel differently but it shouldn't be my responsibility 2 pay for anyone's child. If you can't pay for a child's basic needs u SHOULDN'T have a child.

Free public education basic to a democracy, so people have the mental skills to govern themselves. We should legislate universal access to quality education regardless of financial circumstances. Children are full citizens with the “inalienable right..to the pursuit of happiness”

Many states have Robin Hood plans that shuffle money around.

I so agree! It’s ridiculous that what “city or town” you live in, dictates the quality of your education - even within the same county or state!

Soooooo, your 100% wrong. At least the states I looked into. Funds are pooled and redistributed evenly across the state. Been that way in CA since 71. AND we have the largest economy in the country. Ranked 26 in education. Parent involvement makes the difference.

I don't mind paying my fair share of taxes, but it's NOT fair to pay for people who choose to have more than one child if they can't afford to pay their fair share of school tax. We're no longer an agricultural society where families need more kids to help with farming.

Absolutely correct. I once suggested to well-known edu-"reform" soldier that the exclusive schools of the elite be opened up to the poorest and most struggling to share their great teacher/high-standards proficiency magic. "Let me know how that works for you" was the response.

Property taxes is one formula for education funding. I’m a teacher I taught in Cobb county ga. Our taxes were lower than dealbreaker county and our educational system was better. So it’s not just property taxes that determine quality of education, it’s the proper management

Of those resources. Too often certain education districts are neglected and have to spend money on infrastructure and that takes away money from the classroom which impacts quality. I would love to speak to you more in depth about the real inequalities in public education.
