The US should pay reparations for slavery in the form of $100B given to educational and economic renewal in the black community, just as Germany paid $89B in reparations to Jews after WW2 & the US paid $20,000 in reparations to each surviving victim of Japanese internment camps.

Hi Marianne, I agree! And, I believe there are some of these programs in place for urban revitalization. Two programs for which I am familiar are Hub Zones and Opportunity Zones. Historic Tax Credits can also be used to revitalize historic buildings in blighted urban areas.

Before reparations can be paid the language in the constitution must first be changed. They can’t pay reparations to a group of persons they don’t recognize as people.

Actually, I think Black America should thank the Africans, Arab, and Jews that sold them into American slavery. They were born in the most prosperous country in the world because of their ancestors' slavery. What are we going to do about descendants of black slaveowners?

A)reparations is not a 1 off payment, its a comprehensive program of restorative justice, that includes agricultural land, housing, education, employment, business, finance & healthcare B )the damage to DOS was inflicted over 300yrs so it’ll take at least that long to repair it

C) The British earned an estimated £4trillion in labour costs from Caribbean slavery, given the USA Black DOS population is larger, obv the $ figures earned by the USA wd be substantially more than that.

Jews get $89 billion for 12 years of their Holocaust or $7 bill per yr? Blacks get $100 billion for 250 years of our Holocaust (slavery, rape, lynchings, destruction of culture & family)? That doesn't add up. Try 250 yrs of slavery x $7 billion per year = $175,000,000,000,000
