The US should pay reparations for slavery in the form of $100B given to educational and economic renewal in the black community, just as Germany paid $89B in reparations to Jews after WW2 & the US paid $20,000 in reparations to each surviving victim of Japanese internment camps.

Amen! This may be difficult to achieve but it is really the best and most principled response to help right the wrongs done to our enslaved foreparents.

I completely agree. And please don't forget the indigenous genocide and the ethnic cleansing during the Mexican Repatriation and much of that time.

Absolutely!!! Second That Idea!!!🙏🏽👍🏽😁❤️
So according to @marwilliamson $100B given to 2 specific causes is a fair amount to pay for centuries of slavery, land grabs, theft, murder, loss of culture, language, identity, economic deprivation and social displacement that persist to this day.
4)Your comment is sly and an insult to African American intelligence and reparations movement. Like brass your comment shines initially but given time it dulls then all can see how worthless it really is. SMH

That's a start but no. No shade to Jewish Americans or Japanese-Americans that were interned but American Chattel Slavery built the richest nation in the world and lasted much longer.

Also, "Black community" is too broad. America owes reperations to American Descendants of Slavery (#AmericanDOS). Not Black immigrants who have no lineage in American slavery. Not all black is the same.
