Our govt. does more to serve the goal of short term profit maximization for mutli-national corporations rather than it does to serve people and planet. That is the cancer underlying all other cancers, the one issue underlying all other issues -- the economic tyranny of our time.

But it does not. Making corporate profit maximization our governing principle has destroyed our middle class and created the greatest wealth inequality since 1929. Over 30% of Americans live in near poverty. That is not a "good" economy.

A corporation can indeed be a good thing when it adheres to ethical practices, but over the last 40 years there has been a slide in the direction of govt. supported advocacy for short-term corporate profit maximization at the expense of people and planet. That is economic tyranny
