The relevant question isn’t an insane person’s “motive” for killing. The question is why unstable people have such easy access to guns & so little access to mental healthcare. May the victims in California Rest In Peace & their loved one’s hearts be comforted. May we learn. Amen.

And, I think, all the string of failures that led to that person’s instability. There are some failures of mental hardwiring; but most are long-term familial and institutional failures
