The relevant question isn’t an insane person’s “motive” for killing. The question is why unstable people have such easy access to guns & so little access to mental healthcare. May the victims in California Rest In Peace & their loved one’s hearts be comforted. May we learn. Amen.

It is still possible that mis-use of psych meds may be a key factor in many of these incidents. While I also support common-sense gun restrictions, I do support more study and transparency about if and how psych meds might have contributed.

And, I think, all the string of failures that led to that person’s instability. There are some failures of mental hardwiring; but most are long-term familial and institutional failures

We need to do more than treat mental health issues; we have to ask ourselves as a society why so many people find living a mentally healthy existence so difficult these days. There are external issues (i.e. chronic economic stress) AND internal issues (i.e. lack of spirituality)

The more relevant question is why do so many California counties prevent citizens from being able to defend themselves? We will never be able to prevent crazy people from doing crazy things. It's far more important to prevent them from doing so unmolested.

The relevant question to yet another shooting is not do we need more gun control — but how do we stop the unending wars in the Middle East that is fomenting so much hate and rage that is destroying the lives of so many of our fellow human beings — both young and old?

Over and over again, the dismal healthcare system combined with the loose gun laws to produce horrible results, when will the congress learn? Universal healthcare and tighter gun laws now!

I agree with you on this one @marwilliamson Mental health care is non-existent in this country and no one seems to want to deal with it.

Another mass shooting America? Second amendment delusions? Sigh. If this was a terrorist attack we all know the response would be a lot different 😣
