Americans had lost our emotional connection to democracy, a sense of why it matters to us & to the world. Taking it for granted we failed to tend to it; having failed to tend to it we now see it threatened. We can consider this a wake-up call. We were sleeping & now we’re waking.

What we have lost is our interconnected heart, one mind, one soul. Politeness towards one another, always working for the advancement of our families. We have been left with those who have never known the true fight of providing, just the expectations of being provided for.
