By acting, imagining something else, do we miss an opportunity to discover what's there in that darkness, by turning on our inner light?

I don’t think so. My experience is that I can process my wound and at the same time know that I don’t have to act from it.

Had serious fall skiing as teen. Didn't realize it deeply affected me being spontaneous from that moment on. In 30s stood on other cliff. Knees started to shake. Instead of thinking went into shaking, concentrate, contemplate, saw the fall again. Knees stopped shaking jumped off.
