America’s biggest problem is the disconnect between our policies and our values. And no that did not just start with Donald Trump. Rejecting him at the polls - although important - will not be enough to jumpstart our democracy. For that we have to become again who we say we are.

The question isn't the old "Are you better off?" but s/b "Do you feel better?" Unemployment is low, 401ks are high, etc. but we are broken, divided and exhausted. We need a leader and leaders that can heal and bring people together.

Those numbers obscure the reality of millions of Americans. 40% have a hard time making ends meet for food, health, rent and transportation costs - in the richest nation in the world.

Agree. It all comes down to turnout. Women, young people and minorities outnumber traditional Trump voters by a lot. If these groups can become energized and get out we can affect the change we desire. Trump's values don't support women and minorities and we need to show up.
