To disagree with a person is not to “attack” them. To call out evil doesn’t mean you’re being “judgmental”. And to use spirituality as a justification for political complacency is not holy.

Thank you so, so, so very much for this. I am so sick of "spiritual white women" using their spirituality for complacency. Yoga's ahimsa is being used all wrong. And we MUST call out evil. It doesn't make us evil to call it out. You are the real deal.

I have struggled so much with yoga of late. The Western yoga community often seems so wrapped up in the notion of personal fulfillment that they forget about what connection really is and that we have an obligation to stand against injustice.

For me, I think it's really about being comfortable with knowing my own path and not being dissuaded by some of the elevated voices. Just because they have mass visibility doesn't make them right. In fact, palatibility is a sign, in some ways, of a diluted and insincere message.
