People who will be living the majority if not all of their lives in the 21st-century should not be burdened by amoral, unjust economic theories of the late 1900’s. Free market capitalism will either retrieve its ethical center or it will not survive the emerging cry for justice.

On several objective measures, there’s less poverty in the world now than there was at the end of the 20th century.

Internationally, 1 billion people live on $1.25 & less a day. In the United States, 40% of Americans struggle to afford food, rent, health care and transportation costs. That’s good enough for you?

Of course not. But it’s difficult to condemn capitalism when international poverty has fallen from 60% of global population in 2000 to around 40% of population now. That’s a positive trend and I’m grateful for its impact in people’s lives.
